Happy Friday! I am linking up with Doodlebugs teaching today for Five for Friday! I am sorry for any typos or missing links today. I am typing this in the car, on my iPad, on the way to Vermont for the day. I am quickly realizing this isn't the most convent way to blog, but I wanted to share with you :)

Our district decided that instead of a February vacation we can have just Friday and Monday off. I do miss having the week, but hopefully we are done with snow days so we can get out early this year. I am very excited today, even though I had to leave at 5:30 this morning, I am on my way to Okemo mountain in Vermont. I am going to learn to ski today, I have been skiing twice before, once when I was little and again in college, so it should be interesting. I may blog again on the way home with pictures :)

My kids have become obsessed with clipart! Every month I change their name tags, and this month they started putting in requests. I put a slide up with about 50 images for them to choose from. They came to me with their choices and told me how they wanted it on their tag. I still had requests for a Lego Yoda and the Tardis, so I went to Google. I loved how they came out, and my kids are so proud of them.

I made these for my kids, we had our party yesterda, and they loved them. When I say made them, all I did was print and attach the pencils and bubbles. The card was created by Emily at Munchkins Inc. if you want them they are a freebie on her TPT store, store name Munchkins Inc.

The best part of our day yesterday was these boxes. We had them create a box for the cards and such based on a book they read and wrote a report on. We left the book choices wide open. I have never had a class so excited about card boxes. This will defiantly be a new tradition in our classroom!
This friend was pretty excited, she said she had a Harry Potter desk! Her card box, name tag, and book (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) all have to do with Harry Potter, needless to say we needed a picture.

This brings us to my final items for today, this is our next read aloud. I currently have 12 out of 17 of my second graders trying to read it, with others that want to try as well. I told them we are starting on Tuesday, so they can read ahead of us, along with us, or just listen. This book is hard for a second grader to read on their own, and they are so excited to share it as a class!
I am almost to Okemo, well I am just entering Vermont! Make sure to stop by Doodlebugs teaching to see what others are up too. I am sorry I can't figure out how to add the links. I just hope this posts, service keeps going in and out. Talk to you soon!
Sara! I LOVE your book boxes for their valentines. So cute and original. I bet they had a blast making them. I hope you have a wonderful long weekend, skiing and all. Make sure to take a class. It makes all the difference in the world. Can't wait to see some pictures. -Jaime
