Today I am linking up with Farley, from Oh' Boy 4th Grade for my August Currently. I am also linking up with Kacey, from Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday!
Listening- I am listening to the country radio station on Spotify. I have a subscription to use in my classroom but for some reason I always forget I have it at home.
Loving- I have loved having the extra time to create this summer. With all the inspiration on Monday Made Its and Pinterest, I have been having a blast!
Thinking- I really miss school, I am the type that likes routine, and having it altered messes with me. Plus I really miss the kids, everyday is an adventure at school!
Wanting- I have been shopping for my classroom a lot, as many of you have. I just wish that someone else would pay for all of it :)
Needing- I have been in my room 3 times now and I am starting to feel like I am making some progress, I still have a ton of things to do, but it is coming along.
1st Day- The staff meetings are the 21st and 22nd of August. The kids come back to 27th. We don't technically have to be there that Monday and Tuesday, but most of us will be!

Summer means I have time to help my mom with projects she wants done. One thing she wanted was a display board for her restaurant LeReine's Cuisine. So I used my machine and cut out the vinyl letters and Melonheadz chef. She loved it! I did blue on the front because the colors of her restaurant theme is blue and white, and on the black side I just used white an she writes with neon markers.
I had fun making these custom labels for my many new storage containers! Hopefully they will help me stay organized.
Here is the hot mess I walked into on day one! The pictures don't do the mess justice.
Day two, I was happy to be back working in my classroom! I have desks lined up and washed. I finished most of my scrubbing on day one, a little on day two. All I have left to clean in on top of the bulletin boards, I like to dust that part.
On day two I organized all of the new math and reading series materials. They send so much stuff. They even gave me word cards, which I stored immediately because I can make them or get some on TPT that would be so much prettier!
I wrote about my SLANT Box this week, if you missed it you can click here to read all about it. I also got my new partners for this months box. I love doing these and meeting new bloggers.

Spotify?!?! I've never heard of it. I'm going to have to check it out. An endless budget, I need that too!!! Good luck going back to school:-)
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be great to have someone pay for our classrooms!! Enjoy the rest of your summer! :)

Live, Laugh, I love Kindergarten
It sounds like you and I had the same week! lol...I went into my classroom this week, and it felt so good to start hauling desks around, putting them into some kind of order! I have been trying to reduce how much money I spend, but that usually only lasts the first few days or so...until I see a new school supplies flier...or walk into a book store...or pretty much leave my house! Oh well...I have to work in that space, too, so I might as well enjoy it! Take care, and good luck in the new school year!

In a way, I wish we could get into our classrooms this week. It would be nice to get it done and not stress over it. Yep, I'd love an endless budget for my classroom! Have a good week!

Love me some country music too! My boys are always on Spotify and keep telling me I need to switch over from Pandora that it is soo much better. I agree it would be totally nice to have someone else pay for my classroom shopping. Looks like you are making progress in your room. Enjoy what is left of your vacation!
