I have another Monday Made It!!! This time it is all about organizing my fonts and clip art so I can remember, and utilize what I have when I go to make items for my class, and for TPT.
I made a handy font guide to help me pick the perfect font! I don't know about you, but I was having trouble seeing the detail of the font on my computer from the drop down menu. All I did was take the fonts that I have downloaded from TPT and make a half card for each designer. The fonts are listed on the front and back. I also have one designer per color so I can find them easier. I originally got this idea from Jennifer from First Grade Blue Skies, you can see her post about it here. I am going to punch holes in the top and put them on a ring, but the rings are at school. I also made 2, one for my school bag so I have it on the go, and the other for next to my home computer.
Over the winter, I made this organizer for my clipart, at first I loved it, but then not so much. I had a sheet in there for every clipart set, and every piece of clipart had it own spot. It was great, I could see everything and it worked. Then life happened, and it was bulky, but its main job was at home so that wasn't too bad. Also, every time I bought new clipart I had to make a new page and print it. This became really time consuming, so I ended out with a file on my computer that had all of this clipart that needed to be filed. Now I was looking all over for clipart again, so it was a fail.
So I made this one! It is only a 1 inch binder, the other was a 2 and a half! It also has all the backgrounds and borders as well as the clipart. What I did was take a screen shot of the product picture on TPT and put it in a box on the creators page. If you can see the bottom right has a Melonheadz page (she has multiple) and there are 12 pictures of sets, instead of individual pictures. You can see all the clipart in the set so this is really working. Now when I get a new set I just need to add one picture onto the creator page and print. I am hoping this will be easier to maintain. I also had room so I did all my backgrounds and borders, as you can see in the picture on the bottom left I used some Washi to separate the different sections!
So hopefully these 2 Monday Made Its, will help me stay organized, so I can use all of those great items that I have purchased. If you want to see what others are making this Monday click on the picture below!
I LOVE your font list idea! I just started creating my own products (my first blog post was today!). I have a few favorite fonts written down on a sticky note - but I am much more likely to refer to something if it is cute! Thanks so much for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThis is genius!
ReplyDeletePlease excuse my ignorance, but would you be willing to share what a creator'a page is? Thank you :)
DeleteI would love to share with you but when I tried to reply by email it was a no reply blogger, please send me an email sarabeth781@gmail.com
DeleteLove these ideas, because the "I know I have this" is a common phrase coming out of my mouth! Thanks for sharing!

I love both of these ideas! I have so many digital scrapbook files, this would be great! How long did it take to make the font guide? I have about 1,000 fonts with all of the pea fonts...

It actually went quicker than I was expecting. I opened up the fonts on my computer and copied and pasted the names in, then I just had to make it that font style.
