Five for Friday- July 11

It's Friday, again! Why is it Friday always seems to come much quicker in the summer?  I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for this weeks Five for Friday!

My birthday was last Tuesday, it was uneventful for me thank God! After the ER last year, I wanted safe and calm.   I hung out with friends and family, went to a nice dinner, and ended my birthday giveaway!  The winner of my birthday is Paula Shaw from Paula's Place, stop by if you haven't been there yet.  She is an adorable blogger from Australia, and it has been a pleasure corresponding with her after she won.  And what is a birthday without friends posting lovely pictures of you on Facebook, I am sure she will be just as thrilled to see this in my blog :) Love ya, Janet!

I am so sad I am not in Vegas for the TPT conference, I have already started saving my pennies for next year.  I have been watching everyones posts on Instagram and it looks amazing! I am hoping there will be a way to get access to the content of some of the speakers.
On a side note, one of my sorority sisters posted a picture from the same hotel in Vegas, I posted on it that there is a teachers conference there.  She said, "I know, they are so nice."

I went a couple of weeks ago and got some blood work done for my nutritionalist, well this week I got the results.  Evidently I can't pass all test, well my blood can't anyway :(  She said I was on the edge of being diagnosed with some real bad stuff, and my thyroid has bad stuff already that I didn't know about! So now I have to work extra hard and exercise and stick on this new "diet".  I have to give up gluten (I did this in April, when I started going to her after the ER visit), dairy, soy (unless I see the whole bean), and I can only have 50-75 grams of carbs a day.  I also have to exercise everyday, at least a half hour!  It will be hard to adjust my life, but I don't want the diabetes, cholesterol, and something else I started blanking out because I got scared.  If you want to help me along my journey I can use all the support I can get.  I am using MyFitnessPal, and Fitbit.  The username is sarabeth781, or its under my email sarabeth781@gmail.com, any help is welcome.

Needless to say, the helmet my boyfriend got me for my birthday will be getting plenty of use.  He figured since I crashed a couple of weeks ago and you aren't supposed to use a helmet after an impact, that he would get me a really bright one so cars can see me!  I also go to the gym now, with a trainer, she is helping a lot, boy am I sore.  I went and golfed today, we opted to carry our bags instead of using the cart.  And, I went and picked up pool passes to our local pool.  Summer has many opportunities to exercise and I am going to try to take advantage.  Living in New England many of these options will be gone come fall, so hopefully I can get to the point where I crave exercise before then.

I was going back and forth about doing this scavenger hunt on Blog Hoppin, but they said you can post collages now, so I am all for it.  I was noticing people were getting annoyed with all the posts, and I didn't want to upset my followers, but I think they will be good with collages.  I love this random shot I got at my softball game last night, this is the son of one of my teammates, and he just happened to have an ice cream.  I just have to remember to bring the sign everywhere now and to study that list!
If you haven't heard about the contest yet you can go to Blog Hoppin and get all the information.
