This morning I am linking up with Covered with Glitter and Glue to share with you What I'm Loving Wednesday.
1. I am officially on Summer Vacation!!!! The last day of school was yesterday, so I am free to sleep in and relax. Well I tried to sleep in but my body would't let me, maybe tomorrow! I am always sad to see a school year end, but I can't wait to start next year. I have a summer full of planning and creating ahead....as well as reading and relaxing!
2. As soon as school was done yesterday my grade partner and I headed over to the Scholastic Warehouse book sale. I am thinking this is a completely normal thing to do, end a school year and go shopping for next year immediately. I did well, I bought 40 books for $75, you can see part of my selection in the picture.
3. This year we counted down the last 10 days of school by popping a balloon with an activity for each day. We had a lot of fun with this, we did everything from have cupcakes to practicing math on our desks with shaving cream. One day we played Bingo with a 5th grade class, another day we brought in stuffed animals to read with. On the last day of school they all brought in board games. Our classroom was empty and they sat around all day playing games together, it was a great way to end the year!
4. I will now have time to read this book! It came last week and I have been waiting until summer vacation to start it. I also have "fun" books to read, but I am excited about the Daily 5 book. We started Daily 5 in second grade this year and I loved it, I am hoping to get some new ideas so I can fine tune what we started this year.
5. What I am loving most is I have time for a bike ride today!!! I love having time to ride my bike and be outside. Between trying to get stuff done for the end of the year and the rain we were having I haven't been riding in a few weeks. I want to be able to ride more this summer, and exercise in other ways so hopefully I will be a little smaller for my next class ;)
I'm going to a Scholastic Warehouse sale in a couple weeks. I'm pretty excited! Thanks for linking up! I hope you had a great bike ride!

Love those end of year gifts...great idea! I should have gone to the Scholastic sale, but I missed it. Oh well, there's always next year...looks like you got some great stuff. :-)

ENJOY the Daily 5 Book... I made the mistake of reading it and the CAFE book in April and ended up completely changing my reading block into a Daily 5 model because it felt like a disservice to my kiddos to keep doing what I was already doing after learning about how amazing Daily 5 and CAFE are!!!!
